In Provence, the chapels are often far from any dwelling. Sometimes because the centers have moved, but just as often these chapels have always been in solitary places. This is also the case for the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Lamaron placed on a high point of 1090 meters of the Plateau d'Albion. The wind blows here almost constantly.
Here grows lavender and clary sage, which glows just as purple in the distance.

Site history
The chapel is identified as belonging to the Abbey of Saint-Victor de Marseille in 1032. In any case, the apse and some decorative stones reapplied to the facades date from this period.
The nave dates from 1667 as indicated by a stone placed in the open vestibule.

Description
The chapel is built on a very simple plan. A nave with a round apse on the east side and a very large vestibule on the west.
The irregular masonry is mostly plastered.
The bell tower with a single bay is between the vestibule and the nave.
We suppose a water cistern under the paving.
