This growers' market in Velleron takes place Monday to Saturday. However, it is necessary to observe the seasonal or daily divergences specified in the weekly table above.

Velleron summer farmers' market is located at the Route du Thor, other local name: Route de Cavaillon. This is south of the parking on the western access to the city (map). 200 different booths are to be found on this market. The product range includes fruit and vegetables, direct marketing food, oarganic products and also meat products.

Created on May 15, 1985, at the initiative of Robert Rouch, mayor of Velleron, this market brings together, at the foot of the village, nearly 150 exhibitors on the site of the former Velleron station.

The exhibitors are all registered local farmers offering only fruits and vegetables harvested the same day. The sale begins at the signal of the rural policeman. As soon as the market opens its doors, buyers crowd and scramble to enter and stock up, depending on the season, with melons, cherries, strawberries, asparagus, zucchini, cabbage, leeks, pumpkins, etc.

This market has received the Marché Paysan quality label awarded by the Luberon Regional Natural Park. It has been classified in France among the 100 Marchés d'Exception since 1997 and attracts more than 150,000 visitors per year. It is a real institution in the Vaucluse.
